Nutrition: eating plans made for you
No miracle diets: every plan is built from scratch, on a scientific basis and tailored to your situation.
What the dietitian does
The dietitian-nutritionist is the healthcare professional who assesses nutritional status and designs eating plans to maintain health, prevent disease or treat existing conditions. At our nutrition clinic there are no miracle diets or off-the-shelf menus: every plan is built from scratch, on a scientific basis, tailored to each patient's schedule, tastes and lifestyle. The underlying goal is nutrition education â learning to eat in a way that's healthy, enjoyable and sustainable over time â and improving your relationship with food.
Our nutritionists hold university qualifications and are registered professionals, working as part of a multidisciplinary medical centre: when the case calls for it, the plan is coordinated with Lab Testing or with Psychology.
Common reasons for a consultation
- Weight loss: treating overweight and obesity with a focus on losing fat while preserving muscle mass, away from restrictive approaches that lead to rebound weight gain.
- Body recomposition: guidance for building muscle or improving physical performance in a healthy way.
- Digestive conditions: SIBO, irritable bowel syndrome or coeliac disease, with controlled exclusion diets â such as low FODMAP â and later reintroduction.
- Cardiovascular and metabolic risk: dietary management of cholesterol, triglycerides, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.
- Sports nutrition: evidence-based carb-loading, hydration and supplementation strategies for endurance sports, and optimising protein intake and recovery for strength sports.
- Life stages: adapting nutrition to pregnancy, growth, menopause or ageing.
What the first consultation involves
The first visit gathers the information the plan is built on: an interview covering schedules, tastes, aversions, intolerances, physical activity and medical history; a body composition assessment â weight, height, skinfolds or bioimpedance â to work out the percentage of fat, muscle and water; and setting realistic, measurable goals together. Follow-up visits adjust the plan and reinforce habits, so the result depends on what's been learned, not on willpower alone.
When to book an appointment
If you want to lose weight without a hard time doing it, a digestive condition is affecting your day to day, you want to perform better in your sport, or you simply want to get your eating in order with professional guidance, book an appointment with our nutritionist and start with a full assessment.
Frequently asked questions
Will I go hungry on the nutritionist's plans?
Absolutely not. If you are going hungry, the strategy is badly designed. Our aim is for you to eat foods that are nutrient-dense and highly satiating. The secret of success is not eating less, but eating better and adjusting portions to your real energy expenditure.
How long will it take me to see results?
Internal physiological changes (better blood test results, lighter digestion, more energy) are noticed from the first two weeks. As for weight loss or muscle gain, a healthy and sustainable rate is between 500 grams and 1 kilo per week, depending on each person's starting point.
What is the difference between a nutritionist and a dietitian?
In Spain, the Dietitian-Nutritionist holds a 4-year university degree, which legally qualifies them to treat both healthy people and patients with medical conditions (clinical nutrition). The dietitian usually holds a vocational training qualification (FPII). Both are legitimate professionals, unlike «nutrition coaches» or «wellness advisers» with no regulated qualification.
Do I have to buy compulsory supplement products?
No. At RincĂłn Salud we do not sell miracle products, fat-burning pills or meal replacements. We base 100% of the success on real, market-fresh food. Supplementation (such as vitamins or minerals) will only be prescribed if prior medical blood tests show a real deficiency, or in specific cases of extreme sporting performance.
Do you see vegetarian or vegan patients?
Yes, of course. We plan and supervise vegetarian and vegan diets to make sure all essential macronutrient and micronutrient requirements are met (such as vitamin B12 supplementation), avoiding nutritional deficiencies.
