Gynaecology: women's health at every stage
Gynaecological check-up, smear test and hormonal health, with prevention as the clinic's guiding principle.
What gynaecology treats
Gynaecology deals with women's health at all stages of life: from preventive check-ups to the diagnosis and treatment of gynaecological diseases and disorders. Our philosophy is clear: women's health is best cared for through prevention, without waiting for symptoms to appear.
Our gynaecology consultations are available at our medical centres (Vélez-Málaga), through health insurance or privately, supporting each patient with a compassionate approach and medical rigour.
Common reasons for consultation
- Routine gynaecological check-ups.
- Cytology (Pap test) for early detection of cervical lesions.
- Screening tests for sexually transmitted infections.
- Endometriosis: early diagnosis and comprehensive management.
- Fibroids (uterine fibroids): personalised treatment options.
- Hormonal disorders: medical monitoring and tailored therapies.
- Family planning and reproductive health.
What to expect during a gynaecological check-up
The check-up begins with a discussion about the patient's medical history and concerns, followed by a physical examination and any relevant screening tests according to each woman's age and situation, such as cytology. The aim is to detect any abnormality early and treat it before it becomes a major problem: tests such as the Pap smear identify cervical lesions in very early stages, when there is greater scope for intervention.
When there is a diagnosis —endometriosis, fibroids, hormonal imbalances—, the treatment plan is tailored to each patient with the backing of up-to-date medical evidence, and follow-up supports the woman throughout the entire process. Within preventive care, the gynaecological check-up is complemented by the work of our Unidad de mama.
When to book an appointment with the gynaecologist
It is advisable not to wait for discomfort: routine check-ups are the main tool of preventive gynaecology and, for many patients, also a source of peace of mind. In addition, it is best to consult in the event of menstrual cycle changes, persistent pelvic pain, unusual bleeding or any questions regarding family planning or fertility.
