For 17 years I devoted myself to management and training in the non-profit sector. However, in 2014 my life took a radical turn when I began to suffer from constant dizziness and vertigo. After numerous medical tests determining that "everything was fine", I was forced to learn to live with the symptoms and their limitations.
Taking advantage of that forced pause in my career, I decided to listen to my body and study at its pace what had always been my true vocation: Physiotherapy.
Upon graduating, a colleague told me about vestibular physiotherapy. Driven more by the need for my own recovery than by an immediate professional goal, I completed the Postgraduate Course in Vestibular Physiotherapy. It was a turning point: I discovered that my symptoms fitted two widely known and internationally catalogued conditions — Vestibular Migraine and Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD) —, both within the framework of Functional Neurological Disorders (FND). I finally had a scientific answer to the unexplained symptoms that had accompanied me for years.
